These three people have nothing in common except this: they all need accurate, verifiable price data, and until now, no Philippine platform has given it to them in one place.
We built one.
What We Built
The Department of Agriculture runs a program called Bantay Presyo. It collects commodity prices from public markets across the Philippines and publishes them as a public service. The data is public. It is valuable. It is presented on a single page with dropdowns for selecting regions and commodities, which works well for looking up one item at a time.
We took that same government data and built a system around it. The Philippine Wet Market Price Database, accessible through our consumer platform Low Price Dito, lets anyone browse palengke prices by region, by market, and by commodity. Rice in BARMM. Pork in NCR. Fish in Davao. Vegetables in Ilocos. All in one place, all updated regularly, all cryptographically signed so the data can be independently verified.
The DA does the hard work of collecting prices from public markets. We structured the same data so you can browse by region, drill down to a specific market, and see all available commodities on one page per market.
Why a B2B Company Built This
Wholesale Dito Store supplies janitorial products, paper goods, and cleaning chemicals to businesses. We do not sell bangus or cabbage. So why did we invest in building a wet market price database?
Because data infrastructure is infrastructure. The same systems that help a hotel procurement officer find the best wholesale price on tissue paper can help a family find the best palengke price on rice. The same provenance engine that signs our product pages can sign government price data. The same commitment to verifiable information that we apply to our B2B operations applies to public data that benefits ordinary Filipinos.
We are not a retailer of wet market goods. We are a company that knows how to build systems that make data useful. So we built one for the public.
How It Works
The Department of Agriculture publishes Bantay Presyo data on its own schedule. Our system retrieves that data, organizes it by region and market, and adds a searchable interface so Filipinos can find the prices relevant to them without clicking through multiple pages.
Every price is cryptographically signed at the point of ingestion. This means anyone can download the manifest file and verify against our public key that the data has not been altered since it entered our platform. No other price comparison platform in the Philippines offers this level of data integrity verification. Developers and AI agents can access the machine-readable manifest at the provenance endpoint.
The data is organized by region and by market. You can browse nationwide or drill down to a specific public market. Each price table shows the commodity, the specification, the price, and the unit. Each page includes the last update timestamp so you know exactly how current the data is.
