Low Price Dito Is Launching a Free Grocery Budget Planner on July 19. Here Is What It Does.
We told you last week about the free grocery price comparison tool from Low Price Dito. That tool lets you check supermarket prices across SM, Robinsons, Landmark, WalterMart, Shopwise, and Ever in seconds. No ads. No affiliate commissions. Just clean price data updated every Monday morning.
Now there is something new coming. On July 19, 2026, Low Price Dito is releasing a second free tool. This one is called the Grocery Budget Planner. It builds directly on the price comparison data and adds something procurement officers and business owners have been asking for. The ability to plan purchases, audit actual prices paid, and track spending over time.
What the Grocery Budget Planner Does
The price comparison tool answers the question "Where is it cheapest this week?" The Grocery Budget Planner answers a different question. "What is my complete shopping plan, what will it cost, and where should I buy each item?"
Here is the workflow.
- First, you search for products on the price comparison tool. When you find the best price, you click one button to add that item to your shopping list. The product name, store, size, and price are saved instantly. You do this for every item on your procurement list.
- Second, you add items from outside the supermarket system. Wet market purchases. Palengke items. Fish. Pork. Vegetables. Cleaning supplies from a local distributor. Anything that does not appear in the supermarket price tracker gets entered manually with item name, quantity, unit, and price.
- Third, you go shopping. When you return, you open the list and audit your prices. Tap any price to edit it. If the shelf price matched what the tracker said, leave it. If the store had a promo or the palengke vendor gave you a discount, update it. Every edited price gets marked as verified. This is not just a shopping list. It is a purchase audit trail.
- Fourth, you click "Mark as Purchased." The entire trip is saved to your purchase history with a timestamp. Your list clears and is ready for next week. Your history shows every trip you have made, grouped by month, with totals.
Why This Matters for Businesses and Procurement
If you bid on government contracts through PhilGEPS, this tool gives you something valuable. A record of actual purchase prices over time. Not estimated prices. Not SRP bulletins. What you actually paid at specific stores on specific dates.
When you prepare a bid, you can look at your purchase history and see exactly what your supply costs were for the past month or quarter. That is ground truth data for your pricing calculations.
If you supply other businesses, the same logic applies. You can track what your input costs are doing over time. Are prices going up? Which supermarket consistently gives you the best rate on cleaning supplies? Which palengke vendor had the best price on bulk purchases last month? The history answers these questions.
This does not replace your wholesale buying from us. It supplements it. When you need volume at wholesale rates, we are here. When you need to benchmark retail prices or plan mixed-source purchases, this tool is your resource.
What This Means for the Low Price Dito Platform
The price comparison tool and the Grocery Budget Planner are separate tools that work together. The compare tool is for research. The planner is for action. You search on one. You plan on the other. They share data through a single button that says "Add to List."
This is the direction the hybrid platform is heading. Free, independent tools that help Filipino businesses and households make better purchasing decisions. No paywalls. No ads. No affiliate links. Funded by the retail operations of Low Price Dito and built by the same engineering team that powers our wholesale platform.
Our Take
We have watched this tool being built. We know the engineering standards applied. We have seen the purchase audit feature and the spending history dashboard. We believe it fills a genuine gap.
Most budgeting tools are generic. They ask you to categorize expenses manually. They do not understand the difference between a supermarket purchase and a palengke purchase. They do not integrate with live price comparison data. They do not let you audit prices against a known baseline.
This tool does all of that. And it is free.
Launch Date
The Grocery Budget Planner goes live on July 19, 2026 at https://www.lowpricedito.com/grocery-budget-planner-app.
Until then, the price comparison tool is available and fully functional. If you have not tried it yet, now is a good time. It will give you a feel for how the planner works because the two tools are designed to be used together.
We will update this article when the planner goes live.
